Mr Spelman leads out DT curriculum.
Across their Design and Technology journey from Reception to Year 6, children progressively develop a wide range of practical and creative skills. Our curriculum teaches pupils how to design purposeful products, select and use tools safely, and apply a variety of techniques with increasing accuracy and independence. Children are encouraged to test their ideas, make refinements and reflect thoughtfully on how their work could be improved. This iterative process—designing, making, evaluating—helps them build resilience, problem‑solving abilities and a sense of pride in their achievements. Through engaging, hands‑on projects, pupils learn to combine creativity with technical knowledge, preparing them to become confident, innovative designers.
